This FAQ post is specifically for AMV website administrative functions. Useful for Webiste Admin and committee members.

  1. Who can update the website content?
    • All website content can be updated only by website Admin. There are currently [4/3/17] two admins shala and lalit parkale
  2. How to update the contact name and phone number?
    • Website Admin will need to make changes in two places
      1. Contact Us page
      2. Widget – Right Sidebar -> Text: Events & Contacts
  3. In the ‘Contact Us’ page, how to update or add a new location in the Google map if a new school location is added or existing address changes
    • amvsydney@gmail.com has the access to the Google map. Once logged into the Maps, do whatever with the layer availble
  4. How to add an event or activity to the calendar displayed in the right (desktop version) and somewhere near bottom (mobile version)?
    • This is a Google calendar owned by AMVSydney@gmail.com. Anyone having access to AMVSydney@gmail.com can log into Gmail or Calendar to add/change/remove an event (meeting).
    • Also, AMVSydney@gmail.com can allow specific users to manage and edit the calendar. TODO: I have communicated to Arun to allow this access to all branch members and committee members, so that anyone from that group can easily do this.
  5. Where is the website hosted?
  6. What kind of website technology is used?
    • This is completely a WordPress website
  7. Is there a backup of the website?
    • There is no automatic backup of the WordPress application. However, currently there are 2 ways in which the backups exist.
      1. Crazydomains’ Installatron application allows backup of the complete hosted application (not just WordPress application). Till this writing there are 3 backups taken. TODO: setup automatic backup of the hosted application. Need to think about the storage limits if endless backups happens. Need to find out if older backups can be automatically purged to save storage space.
      2. Crazydomain’ Installatron application allows clone of the hosted application. Currently, ‘\marathi’ site is cloned to ‘\–test–‘. This should be used for testing purposes. There is no automatic cloning setup. So the cloned site will be stale, pretty stale. however, could be perceived to be the worst case backup.
